Meet Madam Florence, who teaches our youngest children

Florence Kemigisa teaches Baby Class. Most of her children arrive speaking only Rutooro and have never held a pencil or been away from their mothers.

"The first week is crying," she says. "The second week is songs. By the third week they do not want to go home." Her classroom runs on rhymes, stories and a routine the children can rely on.

She has taught at Nyantaboma for six years and says she would not swap Baby Class for any other.
