A day in the life of a Primary 7 candidate

Julius Baguma15 July 20262 min read

The Primary Leaving Examination decides whether a child goes on to secondary school. For our candidates the final year begins at 7am with an extra lesson before assembly and ends with supervised revision by solar light.

On Saturdays they come in for past papers. Several walk more than an hour each way to do it. Nobody makes them. They know what the certificate is worth.

Last year 94 per cent of our candidates passed, and for the first time the school recorded Division One results. This year's class intends to beat that.
